Matt & Jordan hold a special place in my heart. I did their engagement session the day I lost my beautiful mama. Their love and kindness that day and watching how much they loved each other reminded me of the beauty in life during even the darkest time.
On their wedding day, I got to witness their love and devotion to each other again. This time, I also got to meet their tribe and gigantic family! I loved watching how fiercely Jordan is loved by her mom, stepmom, sisters, grandmas and great grandmas. Her mom worked for months to handmake all of the florals and decor and they were stunning! Jordan is surrounded by strong women and that makes me think of my mama too.
Overall, it was a stunning ceremony at Derby Grange in Dubuque, Iowa. From there we went to the gorgeous Park Farm Winery for bridal portraits. The reception was in Farley at Farley Memorial Hall. One of my favorite details of their reception was the audiobook they had instead of the guest book. Guests got to leave a recorded message for the bride and groom to keep. It was so special watching Jordan’s grandma leave a heartfelt message. Cue the waterworks!
Their adorable son Clayton was all smiles and did SO well even through one of the largest family sessions I have ever photographed! He was such a trooper. AND THOSE BABY BLUE EYES! To die for.
Overall the day was magical and full of love, family, and a sense that this little family was meant to be. I am so excited to see where life takes them and I couldn’t have been luckier to document such a beautiful day. Congratulations Matt & Jordan!
